“We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”
This sentence is the precedent set in stone. Set to achieve the evolutionary goal of “All with Equal, Unalienable Rights”. The very birth of Individual Liberty. The very source of our Unity. This is America’s Founding Principle. This sentence deserves our attention.
We hold the most Noble Cause known to mankind in our hands. We hold Hope for All right here.
This second most important sentence in the history of mankind is the foundation of our beloved United States of America. This sentence deserves another look, more than just a glance. The Founding Principle of a whole New World. Declaring to the world what America stands for – All with equal, unalienable Rights. That no king is above the law and no pauper is below it. This line is not drawn in the sand but etched into our very bedrock.
We need a national epiphany. This very first statement is our Founding Principle. The most American thing we can all do is to promote this Founding Principle. It must be our most important priority. America’s Cause. Our patriotic duty.
Yet does anyone mention it as our Founding Principle? As the basis of our Country? At the core of all our laws? How often do you actually hear it discussed? It seems we hardly mention it at all.
This whole impeachment was about our Founding Principle. Which declares that no one is above the law. Charlottesville is about the basis of our Country as it seeks to end the notion of superior blood, Women’s Equal Rights are all about our Founding Principle written right there in the name. Equal education and opportunity begin with this Principle. Environmental issues start right here, with the Right to Life, there first in our Founding Principle. Voting Rights, Individual Rights, our beloved Civil Rights are all born right here. These Just Causes and many more are, at their core, about standing for America’s one Founding Principle.
Yet we do not make the connection. What have we decided? That it’s too simple or simply that it’s too hard? That we’re there already? Or that we’ll never get there?
Or maybe we think it will just take care of itself, and just don’t worry too much about it. We can so clearly see the prejudice of others, since time began, and yet can be so blind to our own.
We’ve all heard this before and I believe we’ve all made up our minds long ago. It feels like so many have given up on it, in one way or another. We use the excuse of our founding fathers hypocrisy or espouse how far we really have come. Then there are those who really know – how horribly we have not advanced, with ignorance not even seen. Either way we deem it unattainable. A lofty goal or even balderdash. We see a goal we cannot, or simply, don’t want to reach. Or blindly, that we already have. So we certainly don’t delve into it any further.
America’s Founding Principle deserves another look. Maybe we should prioritize. Maybe we should put our hubris aside and ask ourselves, “Why, of all the sentences throughout history to choose from – why this one sentence – to base a whole New World on?” Maybe our founders were more wise than we thought, more futuristic than imagined.
They united a Country with this sentence back then. Maybe this sentence still can. It is still the most Noble Cause known to mankind. Because we hold Hope for All right here.
So much has been sacrificed for this one sentence. So much will be lost without it. It truly deserves another look.
